Recipe: Pickled Ham

April 23, 2017 | Recipes

This week’s recipe from The Ronneburg Recipe Album: German Style Cooking is a popular dish that will keep several days in the refrigerator:

Pickled Ham

A big favorite! Many times our guests cannot finish their main course because they have over-indulged on the pickled ham. However, it never seems to deter them from ordering it again, the very next time they come in.

1 pound precooked ham, trimmed of fat and cut into ½ inch cubes
1 small onion, sliced
1 ½ cups water
1 cup white vinegar
⅛ teaspoon black pepper

Combine all ingredients and refrigerate at least 24 hours before serving. This will keep several days in the refrigerator.

Serves 4.
