We are almost to the end of May, school will really be out after this Friday! 🙂
We were so happy to have the hotel half full on both Friday and Saturday nights this past weekend! People are ready to get out and enjoy the season and we are ready for guests!!!
We are doing our best to follow current best practices – we have a COVID 19 policy in place. Just a few high points: We clean and sanitize the rooms after guests have left, there are no bedspreads or decorative pillows in the rooms to help keep surface space minimal. The beds all have 2 blankets on them. We are monitoring how many people are in the Wagon Wheel Room during breakfast. Guests are welcome to eat outside or take breakfast back to your room. We are serving a plated breakfast rather than the usual buffet style. We sanitize door knobs and table tops several times a day. Wearing a mask in the hotel is your choice at this time. If you choose not to wear a mask, we trust that you’ll respect recommended social distancing. We can do this!!
I have been working outside to decorate our entrance and parking area. The hosta garden I put in last year is beautiful with many shades of green! I am working on adding another large hosta garden and plants around the large bush in our north yard. Brian will not have any grass to mow in this area from now on! I’ve attached pictures of the front of the building, some of our lilacs in bloom, and the beautiful greens of the hosta garden. I also love to garden at home, so there are 2 pictures of the garden in front of our house. We have to have a deer fence so they don’t eat my plants! These plantings are 2 years old. If you look closely, you’ll see I have some flowers planted in a teapot! I added some ‘unusual’ planters this year!
The Amana restaurants are open as are many of the stores. It has also been great weather to sit outside and visit or take a walk on the nature trails!
