Temporary changes continue

March 26, 2020 | Blog, News & Updates

This week I want to update you on temporary changes that I’m aware of in the colonies.
The Ox Yoke Inn posts that they are doing carry out meals only until April 1st. They have a posting on their website with current hours/service.
The Ronneburg Restaurant has reduced hours now and is only offering carry out when they are open. Check their face book page for current hours.
Four of the Amana Society stores are closed until April 6 – The Woolen Mill, The Furniture Shop, The General Store, and The Red Wagon. However, the Meat Market is open – at this time. Again, check their websites for current information.

Many of the other stores have varying hours – be sure to check their websites for up to date information.
All of these changes in store hours are a reflection of COVID-19 safety precautions and are subject to change as our “situation” changes. The great thing to keep in mind is that all of these changes are temporary and hopefully we’ll soon be back to ‘normal’. Also, the Amana Colonies are a beautiful place to come and just take a walk in – enjoy the visual history.

I used a picture of one of my shamrock plants as the ‘featured image’ this week because it reminds me that changes can be temporary. This plant very visibly grows toward the light, as plants do. The leaves remind you when to water it because they begin to close up. The light pink flowers bloom when the plant is well watered and enjoying enough light. All of these changes in the plant are temporary and are part of the healthy growth of the plant.
All of the operation hour changes in the businesses of the Amana Colonies are temporary. As I try to find a ‘silver lining’ on this situation….I am reassured knowing that these reduced hours are temporary and I look forward to having guests come to the Amana Colonies and Zuber’s in the near future!
